Claim the GST back
If you are GST-registered, you claim the full GST on the system as an input tax credit on your next BAS - back in the business within weeks, not years.
From the Peak Demand Reduction Scheme rebate to chattel-mortgage finance and the tax write-offs - everything a NSW business needs to go solar. Size your rebate, then your monthly repayment, in 60 seconds.
Rebate + solar + battery + finance + tax, worked out for your site. Commercial and strata activities (BESS3-BESS5) open 1 September 2026.
The Peak Demand Reduction Scheme pays a battery that discharges through the evening peak. Pick your site, enter the system, and we estimate the Peak Reduction Certificates and the upfront rebate.
Apply the rebate first, then finance the balance with a chattel mortgage through Smart Ease - so the system pays for itself from the power bill it replaces. $0 upfront.
Under a chattel mortgage the system is legally yours from day one, so you claim the tax benefits now and repay the finance over time. Three ways it helps your bottom line:
If you are GST-registered, you claim the full GST on the system as an input tax credit on your next BAS - back in the business within weeks, not years.
The interest portion of every chattel-mortgage repayment is a deductible business expense for the life of the finance.
You depreciate the system against income over its effective life. Most commercial systems cost well over $20,000, so they are depreciated (small business pool or effective life) rather than instantly written off.

The Peak Demand Reduction Scheme is a NSW Government program under the Energy Security Safeguard. A battery that discharges through the 2:30-8:30pm peak earns Peak Reduction Certificates; an accredited provider buys them and hands the value back as an upfront discount.
Shops, warehouses, offices, workshops. 20-200 kWh paired with new solar.
Larger sites from 200 kWh up to 30 MWh. Serious demand, serious certificates.
Buildings of 4+ dwellings. 20-200 kWh. Shared battery, shared savings.
Homes and micro-business, 2-28 kWh. Open now since 1 July 2026.
Send your site, bills and peak-time usage. We design the solar and battery that earns the most certificates for your load.
We apply the PDRS rebate, set out the Smart Ease repayment, and show the tax position - so you see the true net cost in writing.
eHomes works with the Accredited Certificate Provider to create and assign your PRCs, so the discount lands upfront - no registry paperwork for you.
CEC-accredited installers commission the system to scheme standard, and it starts cutting your peak from day one.
It is the Peak Demand Reduction Scheme (PDRS), a NSW Government program under the Energy Security Safeguard. Installing a battery that reduces demand during the 2:30-8:30pm peak earns Peak Reduction Certificates (PRCs). An Accredited Certificate Provider buys those certificates and passes the value back to you as an upfront discount on the install.
The scheme counts 90% of the battery nameplate as usable, caps that at four hours of your inverter output, applies an activity coefficient (higher when you pair qualifying new solar and install within 90 days) and your network loss factor, over the 6-hour peak window and 15-year life. Our calculator runs that method so the certificate count matches the scheme; the dollar value then depends on the certificate price.
You apply the rebate first, then finance the balance - typically with a chattel mortgage through Smart Ease over 3 to 7 years. Repayments are structured to sit under the power bill the system replaces, so a well-sized system can be cash-flow positive from day one. The figures on this page are indicative; Smart Ease sets your actual rate and repayment on approval.
Under a chattel mortgage you own the system from day one. If you are GST-registered you claim the GST back on your next BAS, the interest on your repayments is tax deductible, and you depreciate the asset against income over its effective life. Most commercial systems cost more than $20,000, so they are depreciated rather than instantly written off. Confirm your position with your accountant - this is general information, not tax advice.
Home and small-business batteries (BESS1) opened on 1 July 2026. The apartment, small-medium business and commercial/industrial activities (BESS3, BESS4 and BESS5) commence on 1 September 2026. Scoping now means you are ready to install and claim from day one.
For the business activities (BESS4 and BESS5) yes - you need new solar of at least a quarter of the battery usable capacity, installed within 90 days, plus a minimum customer contribution. Installing the battery within 90 days of the new solar also unlocks the higher certificate rate. We confirm exactly what your site needs at scoping.
eHomes does. We design and install the system and work with the Accredited Certificate Provider to create and assign your certificates, so you take the discount upfront. eHomes is your installer, not the scheme regulator, the certificate provider or a financier.
Eligibility: the commercial PDRS rebate and the business finance shown here are for registered businesses only - you must have an active ABN to qualify.
The Peak Demand Reduction Scheme is a NSW Government program under the Energy Security Safeguard, administered by IPART. Peak Reduction Certificates are created and traded by Accredited Certificate Providers; their value is set by the open market. eHomes Australia designs and installs your system and manages the certificate paperwork with an accredited provider - eHomes is not the scheme regulator, the certificate provider or a financier, and does not set the certificate price.
Rebate, finance and tax figures on this page, including calculator results, are indicative estimates only and are not a quote, a finance offer, or tax or financial advice. Actual rebate value depends on your equipment, network, solar, the certificate price and final scheme rules (set by the NSW Government and subject to change - see energy.nsw.gov.au). Finance is provided by Smart Ease or your financier, subject to their terms and a credit assessment. Tax outcomes depend on your circumstances - confirm with your accountant. Your exact figures are confirmed in your written quote.
Send your site and your bills. We come back with a system design, your PRC rebate, the Smart Ease repayment, and the payback in writing.
