How much is the federal battery rebate?
It's paid per usable kWh: the full rate on the first 14 kWh, 60% from 14 to 28 kWh and 15% from 28 to 50 kWh. On a 21 kWh battery that's about $4,580 if it's installed by 31 December 2026 and about $3,840 from 1 January 2027 (estimates as at 18 October 2026, at a $37 certificate price). We take it off your quote.
Do I need solar panels?
Yes. The rebate needs the battery connected to solar, new or existing. No solar yet? We quote both together and can install them on the same day.
Will it work with my existing solar?
Usually. If your inverter isn't hybrid-ready, we fit an AC-coupled battery instead. We check from your details and photos.
Will it keep the power on in a blackout?
Only with backup set up and a compatible switchboard, and then for the circuits you choose, such as lights, fridge and Wi-Fi. It's an option on your quote.
Do I have to join a virtual power plant (VPP)?
No. The battery has to be VPP-capable to get the rebate, but joining one is your choice.
