How Much Can Adelaide Homeowners Save?
The dollar saving depends on the battery size you install. The STC factor applied to your battery capacity works on a tapering scale:
- Up to 14 kWh: roughly $252 per kWh — the full rate
- 14 kWh to 28 kWh: roughly $151 per kWh for capacity above 14 kWh
- 28 kWh to 50 kWh: roughly $38 per kWh for capacity above 28 kWh

Under the REPS VPP activity, homeowners who connect their battery to an approved Virtual Power Plant (VPP) operator can be eligible for a cash incentive of up to around $2,050. A VPP is a network of home batteries coordinated to support the grid at peak times. In exchange for letting your battery participate, you receive a benefit — through the REPS cash incentive, bill credits, or both, depending on your VPP operator and plan.
